Join us for a hands-on session designed especially for international students who want to enter the Danish job market
We’ll guide you through the essentials of job search in Denmark; finding and reaching out to employers; guidance on how to present your skills and competencies; and answers to questions about how to obtain and build your career network.
During this session you will also hear about how Danish trade unions offer e.g. contract checks, legal help, free academic courses and career support.

Speaker:
Maja Ring Madsen
Maja is a career consultant at IDA, supporting both Danish and international students in understanding the Danish job market. She helps students navigate study jobs, internships, and early career opportunities, with a focus on networking, communication culture, and how to present experience and soft skills beyond grades.
IDA is a Danish non-political trade union and professional association for people with a background in engineering, technology, IT or science. IDA represents more than 175,000 members where 38.000 of them are students and is one of Denmark’s largest and most influential STEM organisations.
Practicalities
- This event is planned and organised in collaboration with AAU Buddy Network
- No previous experience with job searching in Denmark is required.
- The session is 100 % in English and for international students.
- We’ll make it cozy: dinner and beverages are on us!
- After the session, please feel free to join us for International Night in the café
- After the session, the career consultant and student ambassadors from IDA will be available for an informal chat about the evening’s topic.
