Students and staff ate and danced together at the University Party

Shirts, ties and colourful dresses were brought out on the occasion of the annual University Party on Friday, 4 April at Aalborg Congress and Culture Centre. Students and staff turned up in large numbers and followed the red carpet to an evening that offered good food and music. 

Rector Per Michael Johansen delivered a welcome address with gratitude for the great support for the University Party:

You are all essential to this university, and I’m very happy to see so many of you here tonight,” he said.

Under a starry spring sky, there was laughter and talk among students and staff. Guests could immortalize the evening in a photo booth, and after dinner could also hit the dance floor to names like DJ Simon Kynde and Jencel & Kawamura with friends (Johnson and Gobs)

A handful of the students expressed what they were particularly looking forward to.

What are you most looking forward to?

Annika Brems Jensen:  Being with my friends, have a good party and listening to some good music.

Símon Tóur Joen-Jacobsen: Just having fun with my friends – talking and listening to music.

Esben Paasch: I had really been looking forward to hearing Mumle, but now I'm just looking forward to relaxing and eating with my class

Camilla Bundgaard Lassen: I think we're excited about what the event really is.

Victoria Teresa Høgh Jayaneththi: Yeah, this is the first time we're doing something like this.

Jimi Hviid Rohr: I'm just looking forward to having fun and talking to some people.

Who are you going with?

Annika Brems Jensen: I'm with the people from my dorm.

Símon Tóur Joen-Jacobsen: I'm with my friends.

Esben Paasch: We're here with our fellow students. 

Victoria Teresa Høgh Jayaneththi: We're just the two of us.

Jimi Hviid Rohr: The two standing here, we're studying the same thing.

Which artist are you most excited to see?

Annika Brems Jensen: I'm actually not entirely sure who's performing; I kind of forgot. It's been a while since I checked.

Símon Tóur Joen-Jacobsen: I don't know the artists.

Sofie Raho: If I had to choose, it would be Johnson.

Camilla Bundgaard Lassen: I think I'm most excited to see Gobs.

Jimi Hviid Rohr: I don't know who's performing.
